Chili Squid (Sambal Sotong) ● Homemade Recipe [Simple & Easy] Ingredients: 500g cleaned Squid (cut into 1 cm round) 50g Dried shrimp 10 pcs Shallot 1 clove Garlic 1 teaspoon shrimp paste (belacan) 2 tablespoons Chili paste ½ tablespoon sugar ½ teaspoon salt 3 tablespoons Oil 2 tablespoons Water Steps: Pound shallots, garlic and shrimp paste Cook the squid for about 5 minutes Remove the squid and set aside Discard the liquid Heat the pan. Add 3 tablespoons Oil Add dried shrimp and fry until golden brown Remove the dried shrimp and set aside. With the oil in the pan, stir in the pounded shallot mixtures Add chili paste and saute until the mixtures turn dark colour (about 5 minutes) Add sugar, salt and water Add the squid and stir until all coat with the sauce Turn off the heat and add the fried dried shrimp
